UX Talk Tokyo #5

Last night was UX Talk Tokyo #5.

We talked about failure.

One fascinating point came up from Gengo. They made a mistake with one launch which made it very difficult (but not impossible) for new translators to register on their site. Later, their analysis showed that the people who registered during that period turned out to be great translators. A beautiful consequence from what seemed like a failure.

We also did “Share & share a link”. These are the things people shared …

Gneo – To do App
Jelly – Question & Answer App
Codrops – Web tutorials & code snippets
Adam Magyar video – Pretty incredible video shot on home-made equipment

‘Her’ the movie – Movie. See the Wired article too
Ride the lightning – Thursday 23rd (next week)
One more I’ll throw in, about virtual learning to walk

If you would like to contact the person who shared any of these, please let me know.

UX Talk Tokyo #1

Thanks to everyone who came to UX Talk Tokyo’s first meeting last night, and thanks to Gengo for being such great hosts.

Some sketches from Adrian:
Head sketches rearranged

And some pictures from Rob.

I’ve started a resources page so we can build resources over time. Richard’s Sesame Street reference is on there, with a few diagrams. I’ll add more.

Posted here (because it’s a record of the conversation more than a definitive resource), the UX process …

That’s it. Until next month …
